Coming to a historic football stadium this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, British boy band One Direction (1D), still hot after being discovered in 2010 on Simon Cowell‘s X Factor television show, will fill the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena with 60,000+ screaming fans and pop music lovers. It is a busy weekend for the oldest of the great college football arenas. And though she is old (games have been played here since 1902) she is looking very good these days after recent renovations and revitalizations made the stadium worthy of continuing as a home field for the UCLA Bruins, site of the annual New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses and periodically the host of the BCS Championship Game – the Superbowl of college football. Accompanying 1D on this tour will be 5 Seconds of Summer (5SoS), an equally popular boy band from Australia. Oh, the teenyboppers that will be populating Los Angeles this weekend. It boggles the mind. 5SOS appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show earlier this year. We took the photograph below on a private Los Angeles tour in Hollywood of the young ladies waiting behind the studio to see the lads and proffer marriage proposals.
